Mike Fryar was sworn in on 
Wednesday, January 9 as a Buncombe County Commissioner from District 2. After final action by the State Board of Elections and local Board of Elections certifying final vote totals, Mr. Fryar took office as a County Commissioner with a 4 year term.
Commissioner Fryar was the top vote-getter with 20,007 votes in the November 2012 election. The second seat from this district is still in contention and will be decided later this month.
