Teen Library Collective winning logo. It shows an open book with the letters TLC standing out of the pages, surrounded in a circle with the words Teen Library Collective in magenta, cyan, and yellow.
The TLC t-shirt contest has a winner! Congratulations to Jacob A., 17, of Asheville, who created the winning design. Join us from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Satuday, Nov. 1st, at the East Branch Library, 902 Tunnel Rd., Asheville, NC to screenprint Jacob's design onto the t-shirt of your choice. Don't forget to bring a t-shirt, sweatshirt, or tote bag!

If you can't make it to the screenprinting event, you can download either the color or black & white version of the design below and print it out as an iron-on transfer. Voila! Your very own TLC t-shirt!

Rant & Rave

Do you always walk around with a book in your bag? Stay up all night reading under the covers? Love to tell your friends what to read next? Wish someone had told you to skip a book you hated? We want to hear about it!

Rant and Rave - Book Reviews for Teens by Teens

Four times a year, Buncombe County Public Libraries publish RANT & RAVE, a newsletter of book rants and recommendations for teens, by teens. Do you always walk around with a book in your bag? Stay up all night reading under the covers? Love to tell your friends what to read next? Wish someone had told you to skip a book you hated? This is the place to make your voice heard!

Anyone ages 11 to 18 can submit a book review to RANT & RAVE. Look for a submission form at your local Buncombe County Public Library. (Or write a review in your own style – just make sure to tell us your name, the author’s name, and the title of the book.) You can download the form here. Turn your review in to any library, or email it to library@buncombecounty.org and look for yourself in the next issue of RANT & RAVE!
