Real Estate

Real estate records include a variety of scanned images that go back to the early 1900's. These range from real estate conveyances, deeds of trust, cancellation of deeds of trust, power of attorney's, assumed names, separation agreements, road maintenance agreements and many more. You may access our scanned records and retrieve the image through our on-line data base. These records are retrieved by name, file number, book and page, and do not contain vital records.

This office does not prepare any documents; we are the record keepers only. We do not provide any forms. We do not change any information on any document. All recordings must meet our requirement of "being in proper form" as set forth by N. C. General Statutes.

Access to these public records is also available at the Register of Deeds Office in the Public Record Search Room from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. . The information is preserved on microfilm and in our record books. Public access via the internet to our Real Estate records can be found by using our Real Estate Search Tool.

We maintained Deed Books & Deed of Trust Books until July 1, 1999 at which time we combined these records into one Record Book. There is a separate index for Deeds of Trust prior to 1971, and this is noted on the access page.
