DOT Right of Way Plans are indexed by project number and road name. To search and view plans, enter the project number, if known, in the last/firm name field and search using the ”contains” option. Plans can also be searched by using street or highway names.

DOT Right-of-Way Plans

Recording requirements are governed by G. S. 136.19.4 and filed by the Department of Transportation (DOT).

Recording Fees:
$21.00 for the first page
$5.00 for each additional page.

Recording requirements are governed by G.S. 47C-2-109. These are plans of buildings rather than a land area, and will have been prepared by an architect or engineer, not a registered land surveyor.

• Must be on reproducible material such as black ink on white paper, mylar or other archival material.
• Must be either 18" x 24" or 24" x 36".
