Marriage Certificate  

Once the ceremony is performed and the marriage license has been returned, a marriage certificate can be requested.

In Office Record Purchase

To purchase a marriage certificate in person, please bring your valid photo ID and payment to our office at 35 Woodfin St. Certified records can only be issued to immediate family or an authorized agent. Each certified record costs $10.00, and uncertified records cost $0.25 each.

Online Record Purchase

Request Record By Mail

To purchase a marriage certificate by mail, please send a copy of your valid photo ID, payment, and the completed Vital Records Request Form to: Register of Deeds, 35 Woodfin Street, Suite 226, Asheville, NC 28801. Each certified record costs $10.00, and uncertified records cost $0.25 each.

We accept Visa/MasterCard, cash, personal checks, or money orders payable to Register of Deeds.
