Calling All Artists 60 & Older

You could be a part of an art exhibition “Art: The Fountain of Youth” September 26 through October 20, 2015 at the Arrowhead Annex Gallery in Old Fort for regional artists aged 60 years or older.

Entry forms can be accessed via the Council on Aging of Buncombe County’s website  or picked up in person at the Council on Aging of Buncombe County’s office at 46 Sheffield Circle, Asheville NC 28803. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, September 26 from 4 to 6 p.m.

All regional artists aged 60 years or older are eligible to enter up to two pieces matching the exhibition’s theme of “Art: The Fountain of Youth”. This show is intended as a celebration of wisdom, experience, perseverance and expertise and submissions should reflect work completed within the last 5 years. All submitted art must be eligible for purchase.

The Geezer Gallery is a new program of the Council on Aging of Buncombe County, in collaboration with the Portland, Oregon non-profit.  The Geezer Gallery seeks to support and showcase talented senior artists, and offers a free creative arts program to low income older adults. Funds raised through this exhibition will help support the creative arts program.
