Extension Master Gardeners will be at the WNC Farmers' Market Saturday, July 26 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the breezeway between the retail buildings. Let us help you with your plant and bug problems. Please bring plant samples that are large enough for plant identification.
Backyard Compost Demonstration
Extension Master Gardeners will be at the WNC Farmers' Market beside Jesse Israel's Garden Center Saturday, July 26 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Free. Learn how to make "black gold" from your yard and kitchen waste.
Check out several compost systems suitable for backyard use. Watch EMGs tend the compost-in-progress. View a worm composting bin (vermicomposting). Kids love it! So do adults.
Ask questions. Pick up written instructions. Get a small sample of "black gold". You may visit this site at any time to check out the composters and pick up a leaflet. Demonstrations are held on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
