FARM TOUR OF BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES Thursday at 2:00 pm Brown Town Road, Leicester, NC

On November 21, 2013 Lynn Brown will host a Best Management Practices Tour on her farm in New Found. Mrs. Brown has installed several projects including stock trails, watering tanks for rotational grazing, and extensive stream restoration with the assistance of The N.C. Ecosystem Enhancement Program (EEP).

These practices will be discussed by Anthony Dowdle from Buncombe Soil and Water. This will be a good time to learn about some of the practices you can accomplish with the assistance of the Ag Cost Share program to increase profit and protect resources on your farm.

This tour is sponsored by the Pigeon River Fund and the Community Foundation and will start at 2:00 pm. Meet at old dairy barn on Brown Town Road approximately 1/8 mile after the turn at the intersection of Brown Town Rd and Old Newfound Road in Leicester, NC. For more information or directions, contact Anthony Dowdle or Maria Wise at 828-250-4785.
