The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a business misrepresenting their involvement in school fundraisers. Game Day, located on 9935-D Rea Road in Charlotte, NC is selling advertising space to local businesses on calendars using the names of local Buncombe County schools. The calendars and the advertisements on them are of poor quality, with none of the funds going to the schools that they are claiming to represent.
The Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who is approached to buy space on a calendar to benefit an area school contact the school directly to make sure that the solicitation is legitimate, and that proceeds from the advertisements and sales of the calendars will benefit the school.
