A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls Exercise Series

Many older adults have concerns about falls and restrict their activities as a result. A Matter of Balance is an award-winning class series designed to manage falls and increase activity levels for seniors. This free program emphasizes practical strategies to manage and prevent falls.

You Will Learn To:

  • View falls as controllable
  • Set goals for increasing activity
  • Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
  • Exercise to increase strength and balance

Who Should Attend?

  • Anyone concerned about falls
  • Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
  • Anyone who has fallen in the past
  • Anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns

Classes are held once a week for 8 weeks for 2 hours each. You should plan to attend the entire series for maximum improvement.

This class will be facilitated by Heather Bauer, master trainer. The series is sponsored by the Land of Sky Area Agency on Aging and Buncombe County Public Libraries.
