General Statement of Duties
Perform specialized work in software application implementation, support, and troubleshooting of vendor software that supports critical business functions.  

Special Requirements
May require nights/weekend on call duties  

Examples of Work
Examine and analyze business processes, in order to implement and administer efficient business systems developed by vendor providers. Serve as a liaison between the business and the vendor to improve productivity. The qualified candidate employs excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, a positive, customer-friendly attitude and the ability to work in a team environment. In addition, the Business Systems Analyst has a strong technical understanding of the software being supported and functions as an administrator of the software. This position may train new users on use of the system or existing users on new functionality. Using system administration tools, this position may configure the system to meet business needs. This position is responsible for the administration of user access to the system which includes understanding the relationship of user roles and system rights and the importance of timely response to access requests. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the software development life cycle, including the ability to document requirements in writing and communicate effectively with county staff and third party vendors is required. Candidate must be highly skilled, independent, organized, detail-oriented and motivated. Ability to write queries and produce custom reports using Microsoft SQL 2012, Microsoft Report Builder, and Crystal Reports is desirable. 

Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with course work in computer science, information systems or a related field; supplemented by 5 to 7 years’ previous experience supporting and/or administering a vendor system.
