Effective Sept. 1, 2009, tipping fees will increase at the Buncombe County Landfill and the Transfer Station.
- Landfill fees will increase to $43.00 per ton.
- Transfer Station fees will increase to $47.00 per ton

Provides efficient, convenient, and cost effective waste transportation and disposal services in the most environmentally sound manner possible.
The transfer station now accepts appliances (white goods) and other metals but not microwaves. Microwaves are accepted at the Buncombe County Landfill on Panther Branch Rd.
Note: The transfer station accepts Household residential waste only (Effective March 1, 2009)
Please Note: As of March 1, 2009 the Transfer Station will not accept mattresses, construction and debris, furniture, wood, or any other material not generated from household waste.
Recycling
During all open hours, residents can drop off certain recyclables at no charge.

Medical Waste
Plus, you can drop off "sharps," such as needles and lancets, used at home for personal medical care.

From I-240- From I-240, take exit 1B (Brevard Road/Hwy. 191). At the traffic light, take Highway 191 North.
- Turn left onto Shelburne Road. Turn left onto Hominy Creek Road.
- The Transfer Station will be on the left.
- From I-40, take exit 47 (Brevard Road/Hwy. 191). At the traffic light, take Highway 191 North.
- After crossing I-240, turn left onto Shelburne Road. Turn left onto Hominy Creek Road.
- The Transfer Station will be on the left.
