| Conducting A Powerful Job Search |
| The most effective methods of finding a job are the nontraditional. In this workshop, learn the many ways to find out about job openings and then get interviews. Also, identify your job skills and develop a self-sell statement. |
| Identifying Career Interests |
| Complete a questionnaire to help you in identifying your job/career interests and receive a computer generated report listing jobs you would be happiest with, based on your interests. Discuss your assessment results and what steps to take next. |
| Interviewing And Salary Negotiation |
| A resume may get you the interview, but the interview gets you the job. Learn how to communicate with the employer in such a way as to assure him/her that you would be the best candidate for the job. We will cover the importance of first impressions, verbal and nonverbal communication, how to answer the 10 most common interview questions and how to respond to tough or problem questions. |
| Mastering Online Applications |
| Most companies are going to online application processes and it seems that each one is different in some way. This workshop will provide tips for navigating the online application process successfully. In addition, you will learn about various Internet sites with job listings and how to download applications. For many companies, applying online is the only way to get hired. Attend this workshop and significantly increase your job possibilities. |
| WIA Financial Assistance for Continuing Education |
| The Workforce Investment Act provides funding to assist eligible individuals obtain vocational training. This workshop covers training programs, eligibility guidelines and registration process. |

| Do you have the skills for the job of your dreams? Want a concrete way to market your skills to employers? Check out WorkKeys, a set of standardized assessments for determining skill levels in the following areas: Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, Locating Information, Applied Technology, Listening, Writing, Observation, Teamwork and Business Writing. WorkKeys was developed to assist employers in their recruiting efforts, and to provide information for employee advancement and training. |
