Friends of The Library
The Friends of Buncombe County Libraries, Inc.
assist the public libraries in making the community aware
of its services and its needs. Furthermore, they supplement
the majority of funding for adult’s and children’s programming.
They also purchase furniture and equipment that is not available
through county funds.
The Friends are a source of volunteers and are visible supporters
of the library's mission.
The major Friends fundraiser is the Gigantic Annual Book
Sale, usually held in October. In addition, each of
the branches hold their own fund-raisers for their chapter.
