Parks, Greenways and Recreation Services Survey Results
In the fall of 2008, Buncombe County Parks, Greenways and Recreation Services conducted a community survey to gather public opinion about greenway development. Announcements were made through a variety of media venues including WLOS, BCTV 2, Asheville Citizen-Times, the Mountain Xpress, and websites of the WNC Homebuilders Association, the Asheville Board of Realtors and buncombecounty.org. The survey was conducted from November 1, 2008 through March 15, 2009. In total, BCPGR collected 974 responses from the Buncombe County community. 95.3% of all survey respondents indicated that they would like to see a greenway in their respective neighborhoods and communities.
