This is to inform the public that a public hearing will be held on a proposed FY 2014 Community Transportation Program (CTP-5311) grant application which will be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation no later than December 28, 2012. The public hearing will be held on Tuesday November 20 at 4:30 p.m. in the Commission Chambers, located at 200 College Street, Suite 326, in downtown Asheville, NC. Persons interested in attending the public hearing who need either auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or a language translator should contact Kathy Hughes, Clerk to the Board, at 205 College Street, Suite 300, Asheville, NC 28801 via email at kathy.hughes@buncombecounty.org or (828)250-4105 (Voice), or (828)250-4001 (TDD), on or before November 15, 2012.
The Community Transportation Program (CTP) provides assistance with coordination of existing transportation services currently operating in Buncombe County through Mountain Mobility. The program provides transportation options and services for the communities within Buncombe County’s transit service area. Current services are provided by Mountain Mobility using subscription routes, demand-response services, and deviated fixed-routes. The total amount of federal and state matching dollars associated with this year’s CTP-5311 administrative and capital grant request is $556,827. The local matching share required for the project is $85,748.
The draft application may be inspected between the hours of 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday in the offices of Land-of-Sky Regional Council, 339 New Leicester Highway in Asheville, NC 28806, phone (828) 251-6622 x 305. Written comments must be submitted no later than December 28, 2012 to Ms. Hope Bleecker, Transit Program Manager Contact Person, at the Land-of-Sky Regional Council.
