Workforce Housing Policy
On April 15, 2008, Buncombe County Commissioners adopted the County’s first Workforce Housing Policy. The policy was developed recognizing that providing affordable housing opportunities for all segments of our community is an important part of developing and maintaining a healthy economy and a viable community in which people can both live and work. The difficulties working families face in affording a safe and decent place to live in our area has given rise to the need to create additional incentives for the private and non-profit sector to develop affordable workforce housing. The application can be accepted year round. For more information, contact the Planning Department at 250-4830.
