On September 27, 2005 the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing the electronic posting of advertisements for piggybacking and surplus auctions on the County website in lieu of publishing legal notices in local newspapers. This resolution is backed up by North Carolina General Statute 143-129(g) as amended.

Electronic Advertisement for Bids

Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 143-129 and 143-129.8 as amended, sealed bids and proposals will be received by the Purchasing Division for the County of Buncombe for the following:

Rifles for Sheriff’s Department Event #126

Bids will be due on, October 16th, 2008 at 3:00 pm (EST) and must be submitted electronically through the Buncombe County electronic bidding system.  The system can be accessed at:  www.buncombecounty.org/governing/depts/purchasing.

There will be no public opening conducted for this bid to comply with the North Carolina General Statute 143-129.8(d).
