Senior Wish - There are Still Names Left

We all remember the poem:

Starlight, Starbright
The first star I see tonight
I wish I may, I wish I might
Have the wish, I wish tonight!

Seniors who made wishes as children are now wishing for different things. Want to deliver happiness? The holidays are a particularly challenging time if you don’t have any loved ones to celebrate with. Did you know there are seniors and adults with disabilities who have never had a visitor, and some who have never had a Christmas present?

Help us grant a senior’s wish by choosing a name off of one of our holiday boards – we have over 100 wish lists. Drop by 40 Coxe Avenue or 35 Woodfin to choose a list. The list will have a name, sex, age, and some specific wishes or gift ideas.

Return the wrapped gift(s) to Buncombe County Health and Human Services at 35 Woodfin Avenue, Adult Services, Ground Floor. Remember to attach the top portion of the wish list to the package, so that the right person will receive it. Please return gifts by December 15th. Returning your gifts promptly allows staff from to deliver the gifts the week before Christmas.

If you have any questions, call Roxann Sizemore at 250-5721, or email her at roxann.sizemore@buncombecounty.org.
