Buncombe County Parks, Greenways and Recreation Department will offer community grants for the start up of new 
community gardens or the expansion of existing community gardens in Buncombe County. Grants may range from $500 to $4,000.
A "Community Garden" is a garden managed by a group of people with the interest of growing edible crops. The community gardens that produce a portion of their crops to assist in feeding the hungry will have priority consideration during the grant process.
