Employee Spotlight: Carmen Bradley Obtains CMCP Certification

Carmen Bradley, Law Enforcement Operations Manager for Buncombe County's Public Safety Communications, recently obtained her Center Manager Certification Program (CMCP) certificate. The CMCP program is designed to equip 911 Authority Managers and Supervisors with the tools needed to manage their agency effectively. The program increases core competencies required in emergency communications center management.

The course consists of 40 hours of lecture and lab-based education, which differs from other emergency communications training programs by utilizing real-world, hands-on approaches, focused on topics encountered daily by managerial and supervisory personnel. The curriculum is built by current and former 911 center managers with decades of supervisory experience.

Public Safety Communications Director Derrick Ruble says, "I am immensely proud of Carmen's achievement. Every day, she shows how committed she is to protecting the communities of Buncombe County, taking care of her staff, and enhancing the delivery of our core services."

Public Safety is a constantly changing industry. As it changes, leaders must adapt and seek new solutions for new challenges. Continuing professional development is more critical now more than ever with radical changes in technology, changing expectations of residents and visitors, and best practices. Without continuous learning, Public Safety professionals are more likely to lag behind and fail to rise to community expectations.

Congratulations to Carmen on this latest achievement and for a never-ending pursuit of professional improvement. Buncombe County is fortunate and proud to have employees as dedicated as you. Thank you for your service!
