Does your organization have an idea about how to help Buncombe County with its ongoing response to the COVID-19 global pandemic? Starting now, nonprofits and public organizations can submit proposals for consideration to be funded by part of the $50,733,290 in federal COVID Recovery Funding. The money is aimed at directly addressing the County’s COVID response efforts and the economic fallout from the pandemic.
Buncombe County is committed to investing these funds in projects that:
- Align with the County’s Strategic Plan 2025 and community priorities.
- Support equitable outcomes for most impacted populations.
- Leverage and align with other governmental funding sources.
- Make best use of this one-time infusion of resources.
- Have a lasting impact.
- Meet federal guidance.

COVID Recovery Funding informational workshop
The County will hold a workshop for potential applicants to learn what projects best align with funding guidelines as well as best practices for creating a successful application. Learn more about the scope of projects Buncombe County is looking for and have a chance to ask questions. All questions and responses from the session will be posted in the form of an addendum, and a recording of the session will be published.
The virtual funding workshop will be held on June 17, 2021 from 3:30-5 p.m.
