The first phase of the new NC FAST (Families Accessing Services through Technology) system was piloted in the spring and Buncombe County Health and Human Services has been recognized for their participation.
NC FAST is a program utilizing new technology to streamline the process of applying for food and nutrition benefits. Buncombe was one of only five North Carolina counties involved in the phase 1 pilot. Through their participation in the pilot, Buncombe County HHS Food and Nutrition Services case managers were instrumental in improving the program before full implementation to all 100 counties.
Food and Nutrition Supervisors Kelli Buckner (NCF Champion) and Karen Hart (Superuser) represented Buncombe at a recognition ceremony during the 90th Annual North Carolina Social Service Institute.
Congratulations to all those recognized for this exciting new program.
