The state of North Carolina’s Division of Environmental Assistance and Outreach recently released the state’s Per-Capita Recycling Information, ranking county recycling program performance for FY 2011-12.
This year’s release celebrates North Carolina’s record-breaking low disposal rate and commends public recycling programs across the state for the critical role they play in diverting materials from disposal and delivering those materials to manufacturers in North Carolina and beyond.
The release ranks North Carolina’s counties based on their per-capita recovery of recyclable materials. Buncombe County ranked seventh in common household recyclables.
