The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office 22nd Community Oriented Problem Solving (COPS) team assigned to the Candler Community has created a Facebook page focusing on crime prevention. The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Facebook page can be found here. The page was created to empower and partner with the residents of Buncombe County by posting crime prevention information and resources.
The COPS team began their assignment by attending the Clean Up Candler meeting held on April 9 at Enka Middle School. COPS teams work in a particular community for 30 days, and identify key issues by speaking with community leaders and residents. The team creates an action plan for sustainable success for the community by using their input, and then presents the plan to the community at the end of the 30 day assignment period.
The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office would like the community use the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Facebook page as a resource to improve the security of their homes and businesses.
