Tire Amnesty Day is a free-to-the public tire collection event to promote alternative modes of recycling for the City of Asheville and Buncombe County. Saturday in the Sears parking lot, our volunteers will be ready to accept tires on or off rim at no charge from residents of Buncombe County. There's no limit to the amount of tires that you can bring out.
The next tire collection will be:
- November 4, 2017 from 10am - 5pm
Sears - Side Parking Lot
1 S Tunnel Road, Asheville NC 28801
This FREE event is geared for the general public and not to area businesses. If you're an area business and you need to dispose of tires, please contact Asheville Greenworks at 828-232-7144.

Why are we doing this?
GreenWorks Volunteers pull out and haul away an average of 1,000 tires from the surrounding roads rivers each year. Tires left to photodegrade in the water will release heavy metals into that harm our fish and wildlife.
Can't make it out to this tire recycling event?
No problem, the Buncombe County Landfill accepts tires Monday through Saturday at 85 Panther Branch Road, Alexander NC. Residents may recycle 10 tires without rims at no charge. After that, tires may be recycled at $2 per tire. All tires on rims (even the first 10) are $2 per tire. For info, call 250-5460.
Tire Amnesty day is sponsored by Buncombe County Solid Waste, Biltmore Iron & Metal and Sears.
