The safety of the public and our employees is our top priority while we continue to provide vital services to our community. We would like to let the public know that we are receiving high volumes of traffic at the Buncombe County Transfer Station and Landfill facilities, and as we adapt to social distancing recommendations we are experiencing some higher wait times.
On Saturdays, there will be traffic routing adjustments at the Transfer Station’s scale house to reduce customer wait time. This requires utilization of both incoming scales for residential and commercial customers, and we are asking residential customers to please be careful, patient, and aware of your surroundings at all times for safety. We are asking our commercial drivers to proceed with extreme caution and ask the public to do the same when entering the facility.
We are currently operating regular business hours at both facilities, and we ask that the public practice appropriate social distancing by keeping six feet between yourself, others, and staff. You should always stay home if you are sick.
Also, the hazardous waste recycling day scheduled for Friday, April 3, at the Landfill has been canceled.
