Blue Ridge Pride Generation Plus is another one of the groups affiliated with Age-Friendly Buncombe County. Generation Plus works to leverage the power of the LGBTQ+ community, age 55+, through education, advocacy, service, and celebration. By supporting the growing LGBTQ+55+ population, Generation Plus not only advocates for this diverse population, but seeks to reduce social isolation, build social networks, and celebrates Aging with Pride.
Come join us for music, laughter, and fun at the Generation Plus Holiday Gathering on Sunday, December 11, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at MountainCare located at 68 Sweeten Creek Road. The theme this year is a Sock Swap. Please bring two pairs of socks, one pair to donate to a local nonprofit dedicated to helping the unhoused/unsheltered community, and one wrapped pair to participate in a gift exchange. Also, if you like, please bring a holiday dessert to share. Refreshments and beverages will be provided.
