Last week, the North Carolina General Assembly shared proposed redistricting maps for state house districts, state senate districts, and congressional districts. Buncombe County Board of Commissioner districts follow state house districts and could be impacted if new proposed districts are approved. To view the map of the proposed changes to Buncombe County districts, go to https://www.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?webmap=d7f5dc4d4a914279b4f331292e1d3495
Note that the default view is the proposed house and commissioner districts (CD). By selecting the “layers” feature on the left-hand navigation, you can overlay current congressional districts, current state house districts, proposed state senate districts, the proposed state house districts with HB898, and current election precincts. You can zoom in on the map to view road names.
Feedback on the proposed maps can be submitted to the N.C. General Assembly here https://www.ncleg.gov/RequestForComments/45 or by contacting your state senator or representative. If you’re not sure who represents you, the representative finder is available here – simply type in your address.
