As part of the text amendment process, the Buncombe County Planning Board has added work sessions and additional listening sessions around proposed text amendments to Buncombe County’s development ordinance related to short-term rentals. Purpose of Planning Board
The Planning Board is a legislative board tasked with making recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. The Planning Board has no authority to enact ordinances but does forward recommendations on ordinance language to the Board of Commissioners. Only the Board of Commissioners can approve ordinances that create or change law.
Purpose of work sessions
The primary purpose of the work sessions will be data and text amendment language evaluation and review. No decisions or recommendations will be made at the work sessions.
