Juneteenth Story Time with Jerrie Settles
Saturday, June 15 at 11am at Pack Memorial Library
Explore the history of Juneteenth through stories and African songs led by local children's author Jerrie Settles. For all ages.
Juneteenth Movie Event: Harriet
Saturday, June 15 at 2:30pm at the Swannanoa Library
Join us for our Juneteenth Cinema at Swannanoa Library! Based on the thrilling and inspirational life of an iconic American freedom fighter, Harriet tells the extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman's escape from slavery and transformation into one of America's greatest heroes. For teens and adults, run time 126 minutes and snacks will be provided. This event is free, but you do need to register. Juneteenth Food & Facts
Tuesday, June 18 at 5:30pm at the East Asheville Library
Taste some traditional Juneteenth foods and learn about the holiday and African-American culinary history with two documentaries:

- 6:30 - 7:30 PM James Hemings: Ghost in America’s Kitchen

Juneteenth Flag Collage Mosaic
All Month Long in June at the Swannanoa Library
Join us at the Swannanoa Library to create a collage mosaic Juneteenth Flag. While communally creating this flag, learn the history and meaning of this flag and all that it represents. This program will continue for entire month of June where the community can add to it over time. All ages are welcome to contribute.
