Buncombe Halloween Blood Drive: Don't Be Scared, Carve Out Time to Help Save Lives

There’s no way to sugarcoat this – every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood or platelets, and those can only come from volunteer donations. Approximately 29,000 units of blood cells are needed every day, and your donation can help save more than one life. It’s not a trick, this Halloween Buncombe County and the Red Cross are hosting a blood drive. And we do have treats. All donors will get a special Halloween t-shirt, food, a $10 gift card* and a chance to win a door prize.

Walk-ins are welcome, but it is helpful if you make an appointment ahead of time. You can schedule a donation time by going to RedCrossBlood.org and enter “BuncombeCounty” in the “Make An Appointment” field or contact Carla Hollar at (828) 250-4701.

So let the gourd times roll and give them pumpkin to talk about by joining Buncombe County’s Halloween blood drive.
