Buncombe Commissioners Vote to Remove Property Assessor Keith Miller

At its Sept. 17 special called meeting, the the Buncombe County Board of Board of Commissioners voted to remove Property Assessor Keith Miller for good cause effective immediately. 

"We remain committed to our values of respect, integrity, collaboration, honesty, and equity," said County Manager Avril Pinder. "Wavering from our values is not an option in Buncombe County."

Pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. 153A-98(c)(7), and based on the recommendation of the County Manager, the Board authorized the County Manager to disclose the reasons for holding the good cause hearing against R. Keith Miller, the County Tax Assessor, as the release of this information is essential to maintaining the public confidence in the administration of county services. That document is attached.
