Free Mental Health First Aid Training on May 13

Buncombe County Health and Human Services and Vaya Health are partnering to offer a FREE Mental Health First Aid training for the community.

Mental Health First Aid will teach you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.

Date: May 13, 2025
Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Vaya Health, 200 Ridgefield Court, Asheville, NC
Details: Mental Health First Aid covers ways to combat stigma, de-escalate a crisis, and how to reach out and support someone who may be having thoughts of suicide.

This eight-hour training will give you the skills needed to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use concern or crisis by connecting them to appropriate care.
