4th of July Fireworks at Lake Julian Park

FireworksBuncombe County Parks, Greenways & Recreation will set the sky on fire again this year at Lake Julian Park in Skyland. Families have been enjoying the best celebration in the county at Lake Julian for over 25 years and it's all FREE!

Bring the whole family and spend the day picnicking, fishing and boating. Then join in the FREE celebration under a "Sky Set Afire" at Buncombe County's Lake Julian Park. The show starts at approximately 9:30pm and you won't want to miss it! Shuttle transportation provided.

Can't make it to the Fireworks at Lake Julian?  There are places all around Buncombe County where you can see fireworks in July:

  • July 4: 
    • Big Ivy Community Center
    • Brevard: The downtown celebration starts with the 5K Firecracker Run and includes the 36th annual Fine Arts and Crafts Showcase, a classic car show, music throughout the day at the gazebo, a 1 p.m. bike parade, a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 3 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
    • City of Asheville (Downtown): Festivities start at 1 p.m. at Pack Square and along College Street. A grand finale fireworks display at 10 p.m.
    • Hendersonville: The downtown parade starts at 1 p.m.; celebration starts at 2 p.m. at Jackson Park; fireworks at dark.
    • Lake Julian Park 
    • Mars Hill: Food served starting at noon. Music and fireworks at dark.
    • McCormick Field
    • Town of Black Mountain: Montreat will host a parade in late morning; Black Mountain will have family fun and fireworks that night.
    • Town of Weaverville: Fireworks at Lake Louise
  • July 5:
    • McCormick Field
