It’s Friday evening, you’re settled in, and you’ve got everything you need except for entertainment. Good news, you can stay in your pajamas and browse thousands of e-books, movies, audiobooks, and more via the North Carolina Digital Library. It’s a free service provided through the Buncombe County Public Libraries and just another way as a County resident you are a community shareholder in the multiple services and programs we provide.
As long as you have a current County library card and an internet connection then you’ll have 24-7 access to all the resources the digital library has to offer. You can also download Libby, an app that lets you customize your reading experience by choosing your preferred font size, color scheme, and more. “The digital library is perfect for travelers, because you can carry and store multiple books on a device as small as your phone. You can carry an entire library in your pocket,” notes Librarian Tammy Silver. Another great feature of the digital library is that books automatically return themselves so you’ll never have to worry about late fees.
The digital library features:
- More than 40,000 e-books.
- E-book categories for kids, teens, and adults.
- More than 10,000 audiobooks.
- A diverse selection of new, old, and award-winning movies.
- Intuitive browsing for all media based on categories, age, popularity, and more.
- Constant new additions for all media formats.
So remember, wherever you are in the world, as long you have your Buncombe County library card and an internet connection we’ve got you covered on e-books, movies, and more.
