The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office employs a Public Information Officer (PIO) in order to fulfill public records requests and respond to media inquiries. In order to track public records requests, we ask that you make the request in writing by email, postal mail or by delivering the request in person.
Note: The definition of a public record follows the North Carolina General Statute definition contained in § 132-1. Please note that requests for analysis, reports or any reference material that does not exist at the time of the request is not considered a public record.
