As long as patients are accessible, Mountain Mobility is resuming life-sustaining dialysis transport in coordination with dialysis centers. This will help open hospital beds.  

Community Paramedics are operating a Medical Clinic that is now up and running in Black Mountain at 12 Florida Avenue in Black Mountain and can provide medical care of any non-medical (urgent care) needs except for withdrawals. They are operating 24/7. 

Mental Health Resources 

Important local mental health resources include: 

• Call or text 988 for mental health support from a trained mental health professional. 
• Disaster Distress Helpline is available in English and Spanish 24/7 for anyone impacted by a natural disaster. Call or text 1-800-985-5990. 
• Call NC’s Peer Warmline (1-855-PEERS NC) to speak to a peer living in recovery from mental health or substance use issues.   
• Hope4NC (1-855-587-3463) is available for first responders and volunteers. 
• Call VAYA Behavioral health Crisis Line 1-800-849-6127 for crisis assistance.  

Pet Care:  

• MedVet Asheville will open on Friday, Oct. 4. from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. every day. 677 Brevard Rd Asheville, 28806. 
• Cedar Ridge Animal Hospital - open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. until Friday 10/4/24, then open normal business hours starting next week. Phone lines and the internet are down, but they can be reached by texting 828-575-2430.

• Black Mountain Ingles: Public restrooms (port-a-johns) and handwashing stations are available at 550 NC-9. 
• Reuter Family YMCA: The Reuter Family Y in Biltmore Park is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. for showers, charging, WiFi, gymnasium, and playground.  
• Corpening Memorial YMCA: The Corpening Memorial YMCA in Marion is open from 2-6 p.m. for showers and charging.
